Dr. Veronica Ades runs The Empower Center which is now at Jacobi Medical Center
“Healthcare and social services to support people in the sex trade as well as people who have experienced any form of sexual violence. The sex trade includes, but is not limited to: prostitution (street-based, brothel, internet, gang, and family-facilitated), sex trafficking, stripping, sexual massages, pornography, and escort service."
If you are planning on referring a client there, please email Dr. Elizabeth Singer (elizabeth.singer@mssm.edu, CC Janet and Shahood) and she’ll make a formal introduction to Dr. Ades - just because we haven't referred there recently as they moved from NYU to Jacobi in August 2020
The PurpLE HealthFoundation (led by the original founder of the former PurpLE Clinic) serves women and girls who have faced GBV for primary care and social support. They also serve transgender clients
Libertas is a great for medical care for clients in Queens and remote mental health resources since their work is focused specifically on survivors of torture/human rights violations

SAVI, a Mt. Sinai resource for survivors of sexual assault and violence, is also a resource.

They provide 30 free sessions for mental health care with incredibly well-trained counselors in trauma-informed care. They have an office on Sinai campus (next door to Aron Hall) and one in Brooklyn.
